Traveling to learn humility
ABOUT ME
Hello there!
I read books when there's time to spare on the trains & buses ( and cos of that, sometimes I miss my stops). What type of books? About people's frame of the world, what they believe in, life and.
Love to travel independently. Love playing with children and talking to older folks. With children you just need more energy and with the elderly you just need to listen and hold their hands. I don't mind going to the cinemas alone, done a solo-5hr movie marathon once.
Cheer me up with ice-cream. I don't smoke and don't appreciate people smoking around me - just make an effort to blow your fumes the other way.
Marine life. I just picked up diving and am trying to learn the art of buoyancy. Learnt a great deal about the ocean and our eco system. On land you don't see it but once you are underwater, everything's there - The bleaching & destruction of coral reefs, fewer schools of fishes, fewer sea turtles, fewer manta rays & stingrays and the pollution. So please be responsible with your trash - Just bin it!
I usually play the guitar to relax (tho' I play quite amateurishly) and recently got a Ukelele from my friends on my birthday. If you have a Ukelele, do bring it along & we'll jam together!
I keep a travel blog at http://travelynns.wordpress.com
Have made attempts to update it but do bear with me as I have got loads to write!
Sports? I play table tennis, ask me if you're up for a challenge! I'm rearing for a game of captain's ball too!
Oh and I still believe in love, though it hasn't come to me yet :)
PHILOSOPHY
Learning to live my life in colours. Life is too short to be wasted on worrying. Count your blessings and give your love while you still can.
What does "Living In Colour" mean?
It means leading a culturally rich and rewarding life outside of work. It means spending time with family. It means giving back to your community. It means taking the time to learn about the world around you and your place in it.
Taken from an excerpt from a staff in Edelman:
"...reading one or two (or three) newspapers every day. It's developing an ever growing interest for the place you live in, the world you live in. It's watching the news. It's expanding into new interests, opening doors. Living in color is not "what you do after work" - it's what you do with your life. It never stops. It's agreeing to work for a pro-bono client, and helping another team - or office - with a project, so you can get exposed to things outside your area of comfort. It's understanding how what you do fits into the bigger picture. It's becoming an active, joyful participant in whatever you think is worth your time. If you are a contributor to making this office a better place beyond your account work, you're living in color. If you vote, you're living in color. If you volunteer, you're living in color. If you spend yourself in a worthy cause, you're living in color.
Living in color doesn't "take time." It's how you fill the time you have. It's realizing you're part of something bigger than you.
If you think living in color is expensive, or something you can't afford, you're missing the point. Living in color is like living. It's yours. It's free."

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd love to host if I am available.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm the kind who'll start crying when I have to leave them and their family. The kind who'll hug the dog and tell it to remember me. The kind who'll make a promise to write back. All the couch surfers I've met have been extremely kind and gracious. :) The experience has been awesome!
Centres d'intérêt
When I was young I wanted to learn sign language because I want to help people to communicate; probably that's why I'm in communications. Others include guitar & ukelele jamming, open water diving, and meeting new people.
