Présentation
À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
I've recently moved to Berlin with my girlfriend Elizabeth to start a new adventure at the opposite end of the world from my home (New Zealand). There I hope to find a job in the field I studied at university (fluid mechanics - boring I know!).
Alongside my passion for physics, I've discovered that I really love languages and linguistic theory - I'm always interested in learning interesting quirks about languages. My German right now is probably at a high intermediate level, and I'd like to practice as much as possible to get it up to a standard so that I can work in German. After that I hope to learn another language, at this stage either French or Hungarian.
My heritage is a little bit all over the place: born in South Africa, to parents who originally stem from Scotland and Hungary. Most of my family is still in South Africa, but a few also live in Australia. I would call New Zealand my home as I have lived there my whole life, and I can say that NZ is a great place - simple, charming, beautiful and modest.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I like to meet people and learn from their experiences and culture. I believe I don't know what's best for anyone else and try to keep an open mind on any subject. Learning and socialising are my two big passions.

It may seem a bit lazy to just put a list here, but I don't want to write an entire novel about everything! Here're a couple of topics which I have interest in:

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Been face to face with an Elephant in South Africa (where I was born). By face to face I mean I was in a hide (a kind of small structure in game reserves from where you can watch the animals), and the elephant was at eye level with me perhaps one or two metres away. None of the eight or so people in the hide made a sound until the elephant decided not to trample all of us and walk away back to the herd (of about 30 elephants including babies!)
The experience was simply breathtaking.
