About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel the world and see as much as possible from it. Make new friends. Become a better person. I am learning to be less materialistic and enjoy little things in my life.

*** “Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and to lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and friends.
You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things: air, sleep, dreams, sea, the sky - all things tending towards the eternal or what we imagine of it.” Cesare Pavese

ABOUT ME

I love to meet new people and to get in touch with different cultures. People say I have a good sense of humour but it´s up to you to decide :) I am not a conflict person, I love animals and try to get on well with everyone, without exception. I try to learn to act spontaniously because up to now, my life has been a one big schedule (yeah, unfortunately). So I hope travelling will bring some fresh air into my stereotype :) I believe everyone we meet has something to show/teach us. Whether it is a thought that gets stuck in your mind or a new place they show you or just a different point of view - you can learn a lot from people who were once strangers to you.

PHILOSOPHY

Jobs fill your pockets. Adventures fill your soul.

If it involves breakfast, coffee or campfires I am in.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate by looking for the places to stay while travelling and also by offering my own couch to the others because my country is really beautiful, we have amazing mountains and friendly people. The problem is that the world doesn´t know much about us!! So if you feel like visiting Slovakia, you´re welcome. I guarantee you that it will be an unforgettable experience :) I finally have a sofa to share so I cannot wait to have some Couchsurfers at my place!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have just one - I was the guest in Ireland and I liked it. It is really nice to meet someone new and to actually have the chance to spend some good time with them - you can learn so much from the area you have not had much information about before! It is definitely better to have someone local to tell you about some of the interesting places in the town. Who could possibly know all the secret amazing places better than someone who lives there-? :) Making friends in new places is a special bonus that makes the journey even more interesting and valuable.

When I get a couch request, I always try to respond as soon as possible so that the person asking does not have to wait long and can find another host to help them. Unfortunately, I have not had the same experience with the people I send the couch requests to. I think it does not take a lot of time to decline the request and it would help a lot to let the person know you cannot be their host. So please, if I ask you to be my host and I put effort into writing a personal request with long explanation of my trip, please find time and energy to hit the decline button on my request so that I know I should find someone else. Maybe even a short explanation why you decline could help as well :) I think it is not that hard and I do not ask so much so please, consideer this. I understand if you are busy but if I see you online a few times in a row without responding me, than I know it is not about your busy schedule but rather about your lack of manners :) Let´s make CouchSurfing a better place together! :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have run and finished the Dublin marathon and nothing feels better than knowing that you have overcome yourself and conquered your biggest fears..

I have worked on myself to make myself a better human being - I still have a lot of flaws that I have to work on but I think that becoming aware of your faults and weak spots is a great accomplishment to start with.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can try to show you the beauty of running. Apart from this, I can teach you to see a beauty in the smallest and the most ordinary things. :)

I try to learn to be more positive and not to let not so happy things to destroy my optimism.

I try to avoid negative people cause I feel like there has been too much negativity around in the world these days. Or maybe it is that I just meet wrong people most of the time? Anyway, if you are optimistic and full of energy, open-minded and you do not take life too seriously, then I definitely want to meet you :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

good spirits, enthusiasm. I tend to have a camera-like view of life - I love to look for tiny details about people and situations - like nicely flying hair in the wind, unexpected subtle smile or a secret look between two lovers that says more than thousand words. And I like to talk about these things.

I can cook something for you. If I am staying for more than just one night, I will be happy to make you a cheesecake - my masterpiece, everyone loves my cheesecakes :)

I can share some Slovak food with you - if you are interested in trying some specific food/meal, let me know in advance and I will bring it for you :)

If you are my host, I take it as a sure thing that I invite you for a pint of beer or whatever you like (unless you prefer to stay at home - in that case, I fully respect your decision)
