My current mission is to survive being quasi-homeless in NYC this summer. Help a brother out!
I am an aspiring film producer / creative person who is currently getting his JD/MBA at the University of Alabama. If you are wondering why I'm in Alabama, it is because I was born and raised there. YES, there are ASIANS IN ALABAMA.
Aside from being from ol' Dixie, I'm a pretty stereotypical Asian American. Played violin/piano growing up, love basketball (but suck at it), math team / academic team / etc etc. in high school, valedictorian of my high school, yada yada. Went to a top college..... then things changed a bit for me. I wanted to do something off the beaten path with my life. I started getting interested in film, traveled all over East Asia, including Bhutan. I even spent some time playing violin in the subway stations of NYC and sleeping in parks as a personal social study/experiment.
And now... I'm back in school, in year 3 out of 4 of a JD/MBA program that I... sorta backed into. Before I leave the comfy lifestyle of a college student (and before I am forced to begin repaying my student loans!) I want to take one last stab at a fun travel experience, by being quasi-homeless once again in NYC while I work part-time and try to put together some sort of art project while I am there.
So that's me in a nutshell.
I live my life hoping/believing that one day soon I can do great things for others.
I believe in the spirituality of art. I really do. And I believe in the kindness and goodness of people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm looking to couch surf in NYC this summer. In return if anyone wants to visit Alabama in my last remaining year in Tuscaloosa, your couch is my couch!
I spent one semester at Stanford university without housing, and I would sleep in the libraries & classrooms, as well as the occasional dorm couch.
I also spent one part summer staying on my friend's couch in Hoboken, and it was that summer I became best friends with the streets of Manhattan.
I love creativity, in all its forms. I love things askew. I believe there is beauty in imperfection. I also am a fan of fart jokes.
