About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Just about to move my base to Dublin now.
ABOUT ME
I'm a small town boy at heart. After years of living and graduating from Russia, I'm currently working as a GP. My past working locations included working in a government clinic in Kuching, Daro and Sematan, little idealic seaside towns here in rural Sarawak. Also once in awhile I was hopping on a boat, a 4 wheel drive or a helicopter and travelled to remote villages to offer treatment. Since December 2018 I decided to move to Ireland, to try experiencing working in a different country for once and found myself loving it here.
I've been pretty lucky in the sense that I'm doing a job I love and still get to do all the things that I love too.
I'm excited to get to know more people out there, people I'll be able to call my friends.
PHILOSOPHY
"A lot of things in life people don't do because of the 'what-ifs', when the actual fact is that the 'what-ifs' and the 'whats' and the 'might-bes' are what makes life so exciting.' - Ewan McGregor, the Long Way Around
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In the early years of my traveling I did a lot of these whirlwind backpacking trips. When previously all I did was arrive, snap some picture, eat, sleep, leave, now it's totally different. I hang out with Couchsurfers, make new friends, learn the culture and learn to see a different country and different town the best way- that is through the eyes of the locals. And honestly that's going to be better than any tour guides or any guide books that you can acquire.
I've also been pretty lucky that I've had the chance to meet some pretty cool couchsurfers during my travel. Some of whom have been my lifelong friends.
In Sarawak, I've been hosting, organizing meets and have met out with Couchsurfers out and around Kuching, visiting somes sites, tasting the local delicacies, hosting dinner parties etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There's too many to list it all, but the top of my list would be getting arrested this one time at the Kosovo-Serbian border, and handcuffed for 3 hours to the back of a police truck...
Throughout the whole experience, the only moment I got truly afraid, was when the cops put on latex gloves, because for a second there I thought- CAVITY SEARCH!
But luckily, he spared us that torture and instead went on to the next room. Whoever the people were in the next room have my utmost sympathy though...
Also in 2016 me and two friends decided to embark on this month long trip through some of the most elusive and yet amazing countries in Central Asia. Do check out our travelogue here- https://youtu.be/OBuCgNISwZg
