My name is Alejandro! I am Mexican, living in the United States, I have been living in the United States the majority of my life. Spanish is my native tongue and English is the language I use every day. I'm interested in meeting people from different backgrounds and social groups. I am easy going and flexible in my travels, always up for adventure and exploring. I love music, art, sports, cycling, activism, history, justice and food! I am currently a contributor to Mashin Revista, a Men's fashion magazine in Mexico. I write of the many wonderful things that cycling offers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would love to meet local people that have stories or would like to share stories. I am not interested in resorts or nice hotels, but in the culture and the people that make beautiful cities beautiful. If the opportunity presents itself, I would love a host that could perhaps grab a beer with me but I would also be grateful for someone to offer me their floor to sleep on.

I love to travel and take part of what the locals do: the dive bars, the local art, the beautiful parks and even the rougher looking neighborhoods that often get the cold shoulder from tourists, yet have so much to offer. I love acustic music, electronic music, dance, funk, hip hop, flamenco, classic rock, cumbias, bosa nova and Jazz. Some of my favorite artists or bands are: The Smiths, David Bowie, Empire of the Sun, Estrella Morente, Cesaria Evora, Feist, Paco de Lucia, Piero, Hello Seahorse, Rage against the Machine, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alejandro Sanz.

I love Wes Anderson, Pedro Almodovar and Woody Allen films. These guys make my favorite movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I chased a bandit with an old lady's purse and was able to retrieve the purse and hand it back to the old sweet lady. Yes it was kinda like in the movies except that there weren't any cameras to capture the moment :P
