I'm a 50 year old high school teacher and single father of two adult children who are out on their own. Due to my job, I have weekends, and many breaks during the year when I can host. This is new to me, but a dear friend has hosted for years and recently turned me on to this. I'm excited to start meeting couch surfers :-)

I recently got back from a 12-day Route 66 road trip with a friend who happens to be a couch surfing hostess, and because of her contacts, 7 of the 12 nights we were hosted by couch surfers. The experience was incredible, and it really inspired me to pay the kindness forward and to plan future trips where I can meet friends along the way.
