About Me

Mexican guy living and studying in Kyoto. Non-smoker. Not that much into partying.

I'm very interested in art (I got my Bachelor's degree in Fine Art and got an MA in Chinese Art History) and literature. I've lived in Italy, Japan, Taiwan and Mexico. Now I'm doing an MA in Japanese Literature at Kyoto University.

I’m currently working on what would hopefully be the first Spanish translation of the Kokin Wakashu, the first imperial anthology of poetry in Japan.

It’s been ten years since I last visited Europe so I really want to reconnect with this place :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet locals and expats who enjoy sharing their experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I specially enjoy talking about literature and art, but I'm always eager to have an interesting conversation about any subject. I’m also very interested in neuroscience :p Although I'm not as well-traveled as other people I'd be happy to share my experiences and recommendations about the countries I've visited so far. And, of course, if you want to practice your Spanish, I'm willing to help :)
