Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'm on a Quest for the perfect Now.
ABOUT ME
I'm an open minded guy from El Salvador who loves traveling... wait.. doesnt that describe everybody in CS? Now seriously if i had to talk about myself i would probably just say the good things, and who would belive me? But i love talking so if you have any questions feel free to ask. Also you can check my references:D. I've been traveling with CS for a while so am very lucky to have a lot of people write a bit about me, check it out. Also if you know me already, leave some references.
PHILOSOPHY
-replace with deep sounding phrase, wich means i like enjoying life and sharing happiness-
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love traveling, and even though Interesting places, delicious foods and beautiful landscapes, what i enjoy the most are the interactions with real people, with other cultures, and share a bit of my world.
Even when I travel for work (where I get a hotel) I try to participate in event, engage with people, hang out and meet new and old friends.
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Shampoo!
For some reason I keep forgeting my shampoo bottles everywhere I travel... I guess it is my subconcious's way to say thank you.
EDIT: Also towels sometimes.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was a memeber of Hospitality Club for a while and had nice experiences there. Then I started hanging out with CS people in my town, and was eventually convinced to join. Since then i've been doing all sorts fo fun things through CS, from traveling, to hanging out and meeting new people. I have hosted, I have been guest, shown my city to travelers, and I have traveled with CSers, all of them good experiences. I have done a few CS Invations(ask me if you don't know what this is), and had a few guests. Also sailed with a big CS group (now the guy who organized it has its own sailing thing. It's great check it out, just Google Naleia yachting). I hope i can keep adding things to my CS experience soon.
Interests
Long list of things here, from the usual (reading, music, movies, traveling, friends) to the unusual (not really sure what to write in here: psychology, altruism, medical technology, ecology, art, to name a few. In other words i can fake knowledge and show geniuine interest in almot any topic you propose :D)
Music, Movies, and Books
This list would be insanely huge. Yet at the same time, i'm very picky with my taste in music, books and movies...
does it make sense?
Anyways, i love art in all its forms so we can talk about it when we meet.
Books: things that go out of the ordinary, ordinary things made special, authors that can interact with their readers, books that wake up your imagination.
Movies: great stories, great characters, interesting narrative, breath taking scenographies, simple, complex, mellow, twisted, funny, melancholic, out of the box thinkers, smart directors, free spirits, idependent masterpieces, shorts and longs, and any combination from the above, i'm a movie lover and even watch a lot of the bad films just to complain about them.
Music: I'm very retro with my music taste, from the 20's on every dacade had something to offer (btw, the period between 1975 and 1995 does not exist for me musically :D), love jazz and swing, reggae and ska, rockn'roll and rock, 60's 70's, grunge or alternative, indy and yes, even some pop (not really to much though). Music is a big part of my life (as a listener) and i'm very picky. From contemporary music i love things that sound retro, out of the ordinary, or special in the way they sound, medoldic voices, interesting sounds, I put musicians over showmanship.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Every day is amazing, i enjoy everything from the ordinary to the extravagant. Except cold showers... i really don't enjoy those.
Did that sound like an excuse from someone who doesn't have a story to tell? Maybe, but the truth is that i have seen a lot of interesting things in my life...
maybe that just means that i'm old.
Here is a List:
-oh... the couch surfing site stopped supporting the map App... i'll check into that soon.
anyways: visited 47 countries so far. See the list below.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well I always loved asking questions... i guess i must have been a nightmare for my parents when i was growing up... But I guess because of that I also do know a few answers...
I love talking about anything and everything, both for teaching and learning.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Well if there is time and the stars align correctly i can cook, I am always up for good conversation, i dont have any musical talent but i enjoy singing horribly.
