About Me
Hello, I'm Aleksandar Lazovski, an enthusiastic globetrotter and passionate problem solver. With almost a decade of experience in kickstarting organizations and initiatives, I'm currently the co-founder of SmartUp - the Social Innovation Lab, where I wear the hat of Program Manager for Education & Youth. My journey has taken me across Europe, leading projects spanning youth innovation, education, early childhood development, and digitalization.
My heart beats for the fusion of cutting-edge technologies and education. I channel this passion through crafting and launching training programs for educators via the EDUINO platform. I see myself as a young professional on a mission to supercharge education through innovation and collaboration.
Apart from my responsibilities at SmartUp, I wear two other hats – I'm proud to be a Young European Ambassador and a Fulbright Scholar. Currently, I'm pursuing a Master's in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, part of the Education Leadership, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship cohort of 2023/24.
My zeal for supporting educators in developing nations has driven me to collaborate with teaching professionals across South Eastern Europe (SEE) since 2014. I've also dabbled in various creative endeavors, such as holding the positions of license holder and chief organizer for TEDxSkopje, hosting my podcast titled "A WORD OR TWO," and achieving two successful startup exits in the fields of energy efficiency and game development. Additionally, I've taken on mentoring roles within Generation Unlimited - Youth Challenge, a global initiative by UNICEF aimed at aiding young innovators aged 14 to 24 in creating solutions and enterprises to tackle pressing societal issues.
My expertise encompasses the realms of social innovation, design thinking, and co-creation. Throughout my career, I've lent my insights as a consultant and collaborator to several esteemed international organizations, including UNDP, UNICEF, GIZ, SIDA, and more.
I like anime, movies, sports (soccer, judo, MMA), dancing, techno, travelling, backpacking and all sorts of other fun things!
Let's connect and share our journeys!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In the next 8 months I will be pursuing a Master's in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education on an international scholarship. While I`m in the USA, I would like to explore other cities besides Boston so I can see more of the beauty and diversity of America. As a student, my budget is very limited so I`m hoping that I can count on the kindness of people to open up their homes and introduce me to their culture.
I`m also a strong believer that you can learn so much by connecting with different people and couch surfing is a wonderful way to do that!

I am a very curious person, so I`ve dabbled in all sorts of things - from marshal arts, to sports, to anime, traveling, business building, social innovation to origami making. I would love to share some of the stories from my travels and to also teach you a new skill or technique :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I really like to hike and travel on a budget! I can share tips and tricks on how to do both, specifically for Europe and can also connect you with locals in different countries that are similar adventurous souls. I would also be open to hosting you in my country (apartment with a comfy couch) if and when you decide to visit.
