I definitely wouldn't survive without music. If I ever woke up on a deserted island and was given a choice between a music player and an axe... I'd pick the axe, so that I can build a raft and go somewhere else to listen to even more music. I generally don't mind kind of songs. If I like a particular composition - I just listen to it.

It's a little bit more complicated with the movies and the books. But my general rule is: If after watching a movie or reading a book you mentally keep coming back to it - it was good.
