About Me

Hi everyone! My name is Alena Horowitz and I was raised in the beautiful house posted on this profile. I’m really interested in couch-surfing in other cities and countries. Our beautiful home is 30 minutes outside of Sandpoint, Idaho. My mom, Jackie and brother, Aaron both live there when the house is not rented on VRBO.

I travel the world collecting beautiful one of a kind, handmade items from cultures all over and then sell them at music festivals in the USA. My business is called THE WAVY BUNCH and I’m so lucky to do what I do. The colors and cultures of this world give me life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m really interested in couch-surfing to meet local people while saving money! I would love to couch-surf and meet as many new friends as possible, and experience the places I travel through the eyes of locals. I would love to learn new languages, talk about your cultures and history, and make traditional local food as well. :)

Interests

I love design of all kinds. Architecture, fashion, graphic design, poetry, and written-word arts are all huge parts of my education. I also love the business side of things and have learned much about lean start-up methods for entrepreneurs. Ideas are always popping into my mind and I love finding “idea people” that have their own ideas to share. Talking about ideas with people is one of my favorite things to do.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy live bands at the local breweries as well as going out on the town for various events. I like to keep busy so I’m never “bored.” I’m down to check out any local band, restaurant, arts, entertainment and I accept invitations to write blog posts about events, entertainment, travel, culture and fashion.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was nine years old, I wrote a 65-page children’s book titled, “The TLYTIETTLYM Tree.” That’s an acronym for The Love You Take Is Equal To The Love You Make. After I illustrated the book at age 12, it was published! I see this as one of my greatest accomplishments.

Teach, Learn, Share

Jackie knows a lot about natural health care, including: natural medicine, herbs, exercise and nutritional products. She’s excellent at accounting, math and English grammar. She knows much about raising children, farm animals, permaculture and gardening without the use of pesticides.

Alena can help you with design, art, architecture, interior design.... also entrepreneurship management, business planning, marketing, writing/editing, business start-up methods, marketing trends, social media.

We’re always open for languages and more learning experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love laughing, singing, children, swimming and going out to dance. We can share our smiles, stories, happiness and love of adventure. I will likely not need to stay more than a couple nights in each place.

Countries I’ve Visited
