About Me
Hello~
My name is Alena.
I've had a couchsurfing account for a while, but I am always nervous about using it
A little bit about me:
I work as a waitress and am in school for Information Systems.
Make Youtube + Tiktoks videos in my spare time (really all of my free time goes to that nowadays *sobs*)
I like to take at least one trip out of the US yearly to recuperate my spirits.
It's always lovely meeting people from different places.
I am a little shy and inexperienced with the app, so please be patient with me 😅 i'm much better in person I promise
-----NEXT DESTINATION/S:
Australia 2025 :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I always feel the desire to connect with others. The world is so big and there are so many great people. I want to meet as many of them as possible, so I am thankful for websites like these.
For now I'm interested in events, and hangouts, but I'd love to Host in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books
------MUSIC---
I listen to all types of music, but metal and electronic are my favorite genres.
Recently been branching out into Korean rock and punk. Very difficult to find but very rewarding.
I've also been revisiting many of the bands I grew listening too, Deftones, Linkin Park, Enter Shikari, Metallica, just lots of old rock.
I grew up listening to lots of older Japanese rock bands: Luna Sea, Buck-Tick, X-Japan, Galneryus, The Gazette, Malice Mizer, Plastic Tree, Larc~en~ciel...
Japanese rock takes up quite a bit of the music I listen to which is why I've been learning Japanese so I'll be able to understand the lyrics one day.
I may have overfilled this section, but honestly I could go on about music all day!
-------BOOKS---------------
I am a self-help book addict.
Right now I'm reading "How To Raise A Healthy Gamer" by Alok Kanojia, and "Atomic Habits" by James Clear, which is completely worth all the hype. Anything by Robert Greene is gold.
I also read manga regularly.
Claymore and Ayashi no Ceres are a couple of my favs.
I'm trying to finish up Gantz and Apocalypse no Toride, but life is busy.
Shokuryou Jinrui is the last series I completed (along with the sequel) and man was it fantastic.
------MOVIES---
I'm not much of a movie watcher (mostly just watch anime lol), but I do like mild horror, scary but not too bloody. The last few movies I really enjoyed were IT (the remake), It Follows and The Arrival.
I also like weird, fastasy-ish movies like The Shape of Water.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Survive thus far :-)
Teach, Learn, Share
Exchanging stories with other travelers and learning from those who've been traveling a lot longer than me is important. If I end up somewhere new, I'd like for hosts to teach me everything they know about their home country.
I'm open to practicing English and appreciate others helping me on my journey to become fluent in Spanish and/or Japanese.
What I Can Share with Hosts
What I can share is great energy, conversation, and company. I am a people person through and through. Very extroverted, so socializing is very fun for me. I'm also happy to help out around the house as needed.
