About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not."

ABOUT ME

Carving my path one step at a time; an inquirer, a listener, a recorder. Fascinated by language and eager to continue building a multi-lingual vocabulary. Embracing opportunities to learn in solitude and in the company of others. I love asking questions.

PHILOSOPHY

Live with intention, not expectation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Striving to connect wherever I go.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed long-term with a delightful couple in Tucson while taking a semester of leave from school, at which point I began to understand the importance of being a student of the world, and not just the classroom. An inquiry without an endpoint.

Interests

I love to run and appreciate running buddies when I can find them! Bicycling is the closest I've gotten to flying (sans avion) and so I like to do that as often as I can. An avid intermediate yogi, occasional meditator, sporadic reader, and dedicated letter-writer who is learning to cook, rock-climb, and speak Spanish.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I try to find something incredible in every day that passes, but some highlights along the way have been:

getting caught in the rain at Sabino Canyon of the Sonoran desert on purpose in February, and smelling the creasote bush for the first time; watching a week's worth of sunrises over the Bassin d'Arcachon in the southeast of France; learning how to remodel a house with my older brother and his girlfriend and truly appreciating the value and difficulty of manual labour.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to write great Thank-You notes, faciliate collective musical improvisation, and cure the hiccups (credit for that one goes to my younger brother, James.) I am happy to share any of these skills, along with any others that I may possess.

I want to learn how to mountain bike, make pasta, and solve a Rubix Cube.
