About Me

@marzianox

Hey there! 👋
I’m an extroverted and easygoing guy with a passion for life, a curious mind, and a knack for diving deep into things that fascinate me. By day, I work with a mix of music, spirits and cryptocurrencies—so whether it’s a great cocktail or blockchain talk, I’m your guy! 🍸💻
Recently, I’ve added maracas and drums to the mix—but I can’t play them well yet!
Consider this your warning… 🪇🥁😅

Living in Palermo has been an incredible adventure, and I love being part of the city’s political and cultural life. When I’m not working or engaging in local initiatives, you’ll probably find me tending to my plants 🌿 (yes, I’m a proud plant dad) or heading off on a hike to reconnect with nature and recharge.

Traveling is another passion of mine, and although I’ve pressed pause for a while, I can’t wait to start exploring again in a couple of years. Next big dream? Iran—its rich history and fascinating culture are calling me! ✈️

As a host, I can offer you a futon in the living room of my cozy 50 m² apartment. It’s not the most private setup, but it’s comfortable, and I promise you’ll feel at home. A heads-up: I share my space with Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz (Fidel, for friends), my adorable (and slightly opinionated) cat. 🐾 She’s a fluffball full of personality, but if you’re allergic, that might be a dealbreaker.

Looking forward to connecting with open-minded travelers who are ready to share stories, laughter, and maybe even some local Sicilian secrets (and wine, of course!). Cheers! 🍷

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first discovered Couchsurfing years ago, and it was such an amazing experience—it felt like traveling without borders, meeting fascinating people, and sharing unforgettable moments. Now that I’ve settled into my cozy apartment in the heart of Palermo (been here for about a year), I thought, why not flip the script and give back by hosting interesting people from around the world?

Opening my home to fellow adventurers feels like bringing a piece of the world to my doorstep. Plus, let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to spice up their daily routine with great stories, laughs, and cultural exchanges? It’s like traveling without having to pack a bag!

So here I am, ready to welcome curious, open-minded travelers to my little slice of Sicily. Let’s make some memories, share some good vibes, and maybe even a plate of pasta or two. 🍝

Music, Movies, and Books

There’s always some kind of music playing in my house—it’s practically a rule here! 🎶 But don’t worry, you’ll have full control of Spotify, so feel free to set the vibe.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

30 countries visited.
Follow the Coral reef in one of the best place in the world for snorkeling.
Drove a Vespa for 856 km in a Sardina Trip.
Eaten a black scorpion during Thailand trip.
Drunk a sublime glass of red wine on a boat under Statue of Liberty, in New York.
Ridden the Dune and slept under the desert's stars, in Morocco.
Swam in the Aral Sea
Visited places crossed by Genghis Khan, where time seems to have stood still (Bukhara, Samarkand)
Rode a quad bike through sugar cane fields and visited rum distilleries in Jamaica and Martinique
Cried like a baby in Santa Clara and Moscow, in places I’d dreamed of visiting for years
Lost myself in a Suk and know an amazing country before the advent of his tyrant, in Turkey.
Route 1431 km on a Wolkswagen Kombi, from the Mountain and through 4 countries just to see the Sea.
And I route 1548 Km just to say "I love You" on my knees, in Switzerland...!
