Hi there, I'm Aletta Mes. I live as a student in Utrecht, maybe you know the Domtower as a landmark of this city. I said: 'this city' but it feels like mine. When you are in Utrecht, your relationship with this city will grow and before you know you never want to go elsewhere. But your heart wants to travel and discover the world.
I traveled a lot with my parents when I was young, when I became a little bit older I went to travel myself and planed short trips in weekends so I could combine it with my education. (you know, school and travelling can go together)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I'm honest it started with thinking about a cheap way to go travelling, but we wanted also adventure. I looked with a friend on the internet and she said: 'Look on couchsurfing, maybe you like it'. And yes, I liked it a lot. It is not only cheap, but you learn also a lot about the culture of that country through the person where you stay and sleep.

Interests

My interests are wide. I play organ, but because I live on rooms I can't have an organ at my room :( . But I also make clothes, and I'm designer at a clothinglibrary. I love clothings from the 19th century.
Reading books is also an interest, by example about philosofy or social subjects.

Music, Movies, and Books

My passion is history, also in the music. I love country music of Wanda Jackson and Etta James. But I also love organ music from J. S Bach, Mozart etc.
It's my opinion that everybody should watch the american serie North and South, it's about the civilwar between North and South.

Been in Las Vegas and saw a Redwood. ( it was quite an experience )
