About Me

My name is Alex and a recent exotic automotive industry burn-out. My entire life revolved around cars and it is time to hit restart before my next adventure. This means a massive road trip! I'm selling almost everything I own and hitting the road with my old lady pup, Zoe, in a Porsche 911. Wanna be part of the story?

After growing up in Atlanta Zoe found her self in a number of cities. These included Chicago, Knoxville, Miami, and most recently Orlando. This trip is a breath of fresh air and a way to figure out where I'll land next, and doing what.

Zoe is getting older now at 12 years old and I feel we need to rome together. She will not be with me 100% of the time, but more time than not.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My entire life flipped upside down at 5pm on a Wednesday. I want to travel with my dog, Zoe. I have always put work before everything else and it’s has not produced anything lasting. The relationships I formed along the way have been priceless. I’m looking to travel the US with Zoe and collect more adventures.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy late nights with classic country and a wrench in my hand. But music is the main outlet for feelings. You can hear rock, blues, jazz, country, rap, and everything in between coming from my ears. Podcasts will suck me in for hours. The Moth being my favorite with This American Life being my favorite hour long radio show.

I’m not huge into movies. Watch a lot of documentaries.

Books haven’t been in my life for far too long. They have all been about leadership, cars, branding, marketing and things of the sort. I have brought along 2 books for my first short trip to VI. They are The Bible and Around the World in 80 Days. I loved The Art of Racing in the Rain before the movie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working in the industry I was in allowed to made dreams come true from every age. We had kids come in and want to just sit in them. But when we could pull one out and take them for a test drive the emotions were incredible. I knew that was a moment they would never forget and I got to be part of it.

It was also amazing to work with humble owners who have worked their whole life for one vehicle experience. They trusted my knowledge able the vehicles and I was able to facilitate this purchase. The complete excitement and love for their new toy didn't get any better,

Away from vehicles I have mentored kids in Atlanta through employment and a training program enabling them to grow and become an upstanding leader in the industry.

Teach, Learn, Share

Let me teach you what someone asking to learn looks like. Let me teach you how to teach. Let me walk you through teaching me so you may teach others.
Learning is the most important portion. I need to learn from your gifts. Show me what you are good at. Is it wood working? Is it knitting? Or maybe the details of coin collecting. I am all ears.
Sharing is what my life was centered around. Sharing the detailed information I knew off hand with others not willing to learn. I would love to share anything I might have of interest, but learning sounds incredible.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Quite frankly the experiences I have had in the assorted places I have worked/lived most words will bring up some mind blowing example of who lives in this Nation. Both good and bad. If time allows I will bust out the slow cooker for everyone, that is da bomb. Need you oil changed? Get the items and I'll take a look.
