Overview
About Me
Friends say that I am kind, welcoming, inclusive and quick to connect with others.
I'd say that I am adventurous, open-minded, endlessly curious and love an interesting conversation.
I am a freelance writer by trade, working on everything from website copy to magazine articles. I love my work as it keeps me learning and creating in equal measures.
A few years ago, I trained as a fine furniture maker. This recently led me to open an online store where I discover, restore and craft weird and wonderful items for people's homes and workplaces - LoveYourThings.com
In my spare time I kitesurf, volunteer at the Bristol Wood Recycling Project, play drums, fiddle with guitars, collect records, have friends over and absorb myself in nature.
This is my first international adventure since some major spinal surgery last year. I am now six months clear, sick of being cooped up in the house and keen to take my new bionic spine for a spin across the globe to see if it can keep up! 😉
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We have a vibrant and busy home in Bristol where are always hosting friends and family from across the globe.
I love making new connections, meetings people with similar values and gaining great local insight.
New to the official Couchsurfing app, but feel right at home already 😀

Music, Movies, and Books
Wide music taste, especially soul and blues. Search Spotify for "#Onintheshop" to see a 29hr+ playlist I recently created for working, travelling and having friends over.
Especially enjoy non-fiction books, as I am always keen to explore new things and keep on learning. Currently reading a book by Rupert Sheldrake on the science behind ancient spiritual practices, such a gratitude, meditation and connecting with nature.
Big lover of movies and guilty of the (not so) occasional TV series binges 😋
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Circumnavigated the globe, covering 10 countries in 15 weeks. This took me through India, South East Asia, Australia and South America.
