I'm in the midst of a 5 month career break, traveling solo throughout SE Asia and have been hearing about this couch surfing thing. I have discovered that I enjoy somewhat spontaneous travel and have an aversion tour package storefronts with glossy color posters of popular destinations or adventures that are guided. I'm not currently verified on couch surfing because the Thai sim card I have doesn't seem to accept SMS messages and its amazingly hard to figure out how to add texting (apparently Thais don't SMS) I am real though - I promise. I also don't have any references yet but can't wait to start racking them up - you could be the first!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I'm entering the 4th month of a 5 month trip through SE Asia and the south Pacific. My last stop is Sri Lanka and I'd like to check out couch surfing as way of meeting people and experiencing "real" places. So far I've been staying at hostels and Airbnb places which has been great but I'd like to find a way to meet more local people and like minded travel buddies. As far as hosting surfers: I'd love to do that but I rent a little house from some good friends and need to talk with them about it when I get back home.

I Lived and worked on a horse-powered farm growing vegetables and sheep. I stayed in a cabin with no electricity or running water. It was kind of like time traveling to the 18th century.
