My name is Alex. I'm an American living in France for the year and trying to see as much of the world as I can! I like cats, history, music (I play piano, cello, and sing) friendship, dancing (especially kicks), and lots of other things. I work with kiddos and love what I do. My dream is to be a high school history teacher and help my students develop the skills necessary for an engaged citizenry! Ask me about how I want to reform history education, it's interesting, I promise!

Oh I don't know! I love so many things.

folk, jazz, showtunes, bossa nova, dreamy indie pop, etc, etc etc, etc! Some of my favorite artists are Queen, ABBA, St. Vincent, Joan Baez, Ella Fitzgerald, Sufjan Stevens, Esperanza Spalding.

These days I read mostly non-fiction. I highly recommend Nature's Metropolis for anyone who has the slightest interest in history and how humans interact with and imagine their environment.
