About Me
Hi there! I'm Alexander, a Couchsurfing newbie excited to experience real China while learning the language. Ultimately, I'm searching for a kindred spirit to go camping and hiking with. In return for your hospitality, I'd love to share stories and offer practical help with English, Russian, German, or Kazakh. I'm an attentive listener and a curious guest.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I use Couchsurfing for the human connection — to experience a place through the quiet rhythm of local life and shared moments, like a conversation over tea. For me, the true shelter is in meaningful exchange.
Interests
My interests form a path from the trail to inner stillness. Mountain hiking, Daoist philosophy, and tai chi are facets of the same search: for balance, clarity, and presence. This reflects in a culture of deliberate tea, meaningful conversation, and grounded humor. Ultimately, I value simple things done attentively—whether building a fire or building a dialogue.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent month alone in the mountains, where my only notifications were the weather and my own curiosity. With no rush and no signal, I learned to listen – to the place and to myself.
Teach, Learn, Share
Learning: I'm here to learn Chinese firsthand from native speakers — to truly listen to its melody, intonations, and those living meanings you won’t find in textbooks.
Teaching: In return, I'll patiently and clearly help you practice Russian, English, German, or Kazakh. To me, this is a dialogue, not a lesson.
Sharing: I’m happy to share what fills my journey: stories from solitary mountain trails, calm presence, simple food seasoned with trail humor, and a belief that the best way to understand the world is to light a fire and start a conversation.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I offer respectful, warm energy and a guest’s careful presence. In return, I enjoy sharing languages, travel stories, a moment of calm, or a hand in the kitchen. For me, true hospitality is a quiet, mutual exchange.
