My name is Alex Charvoz, I am an American College Student Studying abroad for a semester in Florence, Italy. I grew up in California and then moved to Idaho when I was 13 years old. I am studying at Gonzaga University in the state of Washington to earn my Mechanical Engineering Degree. This is my first time out of the country and I am stoked to travel and experience new things! I have been in Europe for about three months and it has changed my life! I never thought that I could learn so much about the world in such a short time. I have two older brothers and a dog named Cooper. I enjoy camping, hiking, swimming, I love the outdoors.

I want to meet new people, and it seems as though couch surfing is a great way to get to know local people that will tell you about the city. I am trying to learn as much as I can about the places I travel to, and interacting with the local residents is about as authentic as it gets!

Skiing - I grew up right next to Schweitzer Mountain ski resort and i have been skiing all my life. It is a perfect outdoor activity that is tons of fun as well as challenging. In snow sports you can keep continuing to challenge yourself by conquering new terrain!
I also am a huge fan of water sports! I also live right next to a giant lake in the mountains of Idaho, and every summer I enjoy water skiing, wake boarding, water tubing and fishing. My favorite activity in the world is to relax on my small boat in the middle of the lake on a hot sunny day.
Other interests include Rugby and Beer tasting.

I am also very interested in allowing new thoughts and experiences to change the way I think about the world. I am an open minded person, and I like to test my beliefs.

My favorite movie is Wreck it Ralph. One of the best and most underrated Disney movies out there.
My favorite superhero is batman. Why? I'll tell you! He does not have any super powers, so it is much harder for him to fight crime. Although, he still kicks ass!
My favorite novels are the Pendragon series.They are amazing books that are not very well known.
My favorite musicians are Mike Shinoda, Jack Johnson, and my favorite band is atmosphere.

Paragliding in the Swiss Alps. It was truly amazing! I soared over the town of Interlaken. I am a bit scared of heights, but at the same time I like putting myself out of my comfort zone! It was not nearly as terrifying as I though it would be; Once we were in the air, It felt like I was flying.
