I'm a 28-year-old Sociology Ph.D. student, living in New York, taking advantage of school breaks to travel as much as possible.

I research social movements, so unsurprisingly I enjoy talking about current events and am interested in hearing about politics in other countries.

I adore just about any kind of dancing, clubs or classes, and a have tried a bunch of styles: swing, blues, salsa, tango, bellydancing...

I enjoy finding hidden corners of cities, or, where the locals go--as a New Yorker, I know that tourists rarely find the best places to visit!

I write poetry, dabble in fiction, and have always been a bookworm.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy meeting people abroad, especially when I'm traveling on my own, and I think it's always better to see a city from the perspective of someone who actually lives there! Not to mention, as a grad student, making the most of life on a tight budget is important--and since I'm low-maintenance and friendly, couchsurfing looks like a great option!
