I am a 28 year old from Seattle, Washington. I've been working too hard since I was 16, and am now excited to be headed on an extended trip around Europe this summer to experience a different side of life. I'll be traveling with my boyfriend, Kyle, who is 24 and also has never had a chance to travel extensively outside of the US.

Cultural exchange is the most important part of traveling for me. I don't often get to meet new people that aren't from the US, and seeing how people live on a day to day basis.

Music: I'm not going to be completely lame and say I love "every kind of music", but I'm truly open to anything. Left to my own devices, I love folk and pop from the 1960s, indie from the early 2000s, and new wave from the 80s. My boyfriend loves hip-hop, funk, and jazz, so I listen to that quite frequently as well.

Movies: Ferris Bueller's Day Off (I count this because I can watch it over and over), Mean Girls, Forrest Gump, Star Wars, and (guilty pleasure) any superhero movie that comes out. Most recently I really loved The Big Short and Gone Girl.

Books: I love anything by Stephen King, most so The Stand. I love future dystopian novels from old ones like Fahrenheit 451 to the cheesy love triangle ones like Hunger Games. I also love learning about the past, so I read a lot of nonfiction that focuses on certain time periods, people, or specific events.

Kyle and I fell into an amazing experience going to a NASCAR event in Charlotte, NC where we had garage passes and saw how everything worked behind the scenes.

I am happy to practice English with anyone! Kyle and I are also interested in learning and building on other languages, especially when we are in Spain around June 2016. I also know my way around Photoshop as I was a graphic designer for a while. Kyle plays music, including the trumpet.
