In the summer of 2023, I left my job and set out to travel. Since then, wandering through new places and meeting people from all walks of life has shown me how colorful and diverse the world truly is, and that discovery brings me endless joy.

Traveling without a strict plan feels best to me. I like moving slowly, spending enough time in each place to catch the local rhythm: picking up a few words of the language, diving into the history and culture, and simply watching how life unfolds day to day.

I enjoy both the energy of cities and the quiet of nature. I’m just as happy spending a day wandering through museums, getting lost in backstreets, or sitting in a café watching life go by as I am heading out on a long hike, sleeping under the stars, or climbing a rock face somewhere off the beaten path. Since climbing is a part of my life, I try to get on real rock whenever I can while traveling—or at least touch some plastic if there’s a gym nearby.

What I appreciate most about being on the road is how it connects me with people I’d never meet otherwise. That’s also what I love about Couchsurfing—it opens the door to shared stories, small moments, and experiencing a place through the eyes of someone who calls it home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting people and learning how others live, think, and see the world is one of the reasons I travel. A friend first introduced me to Couchsurfing when I began, and it’s given me some of my most memorable encounters—people who welcomed me into their homes, shared their stories and passions, and reminded me of how generous and open-hearted people can be.
