Hey there! My name is Alex, and I am a recent college grad on a backpacking trip all over South America. I grew up in the US and always had a hankering for getting out and exploring what else the world has to offer. So, much to the horror of my parents, I booked a flight to Bogota for only myself right after graduation, and here we are!

I´m very normal, nonsmoker, love animals, love trying the local food and drinks. I enjoy going out at night, or staying in and watching Netflix after an exhausting day. Sightseeing and museums are my jam (ugh, I know, I´m such an American tourist) and meeting new people is one of my favorite parts of this entire experience (¨You´re never alone when you travel alone¨ is one of the most valuable lessons I´ve learned on this trip.)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hostels are awesome for meeting people from all over the world and swapping war stories about our travels abroad, but sometimes you just want to learn from the locals in a more homey setting. It´s good to mix things up every once in a while!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time in a bar in Buenos Aires, Diego Maradona was standing right next to me, and I had no idea who he was so I didn´t do anything. He wore a discoball earring.
