I’m an extroverted introvert- I love meeting new people and deep conversations, I love to slow travel and immerse into the culture where I do travel, but I also love peace, quiet and solitude in nature. I’m a writer - I previously worked as an environmental consultant but I sold my home in 2017 to go travelling and so I carved out a career that could support more of a nomadic lifestyle. I currently live in Scotland and have a gorgeous cocker spaniel, Bruno, and a van - I love heading to the mountains or the coast for a van trip now and again. I love travelling and food and coffee and love to explore new places and make new friends!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on couch surfing to make friends and connections while I’m travelling so I can get to know some of the people who live in these places and understand the places better. I am very interested in “storyscaping” - the stories stored by people in the landscapes we perceive.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading and I love great storytelling so I love books movies and documentaries with really great stories - I’m currently really obsessed with Awakenings. I love the Earthsea books by Ursula K Le Guin and I’m currently really enjoying the First 15 Lives of Harry August. I read a lot of non fiction too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’m liable to take things on for the sheer joy or amusement, and sometimes I question my life choices. A few years ago I signed up to do the Midnight Marathon in tromso, in the Arctic Circle in Norway. It was hard, but also a great experience.
