Overview
About Me
I’m a long-distance cycle tourer and slow traveller with a strong curiosity for people, places, and everyday life in different cultures. Travelling by bicycle has taken me through many countries and countless villages, cities, campsites, kitchens and coffee tables — and it remains my favourite way to learn about the world.
I love meeting new people, sharing stories and experiencing places through local eyes rather than guidebooks. For me, travel is less about ticking destinations off a list and more about conversations, shared meals and those unplanned moments that only happen when you take your time.
I’m easy-going, respectful and genuinely enjoy connecting with hosts and fellow travellers. Whether it’s a chat over tea, a short walk around town, or a shared meal, I really value the human side of travel.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m currently travelling by bicycle from the UK to New Zealand and see Couchsurfing as a natural extension of the reciprocal hosting and community spirit I already enjoy.
For many years I’ve hosted travellers — particularly cycle tourers — in the UK, welcoming people from many different countries. I’ve loved showing visitors around, helping them understand UK culture and giving them a first-hand local experience rather than a tourist one.
As a traveller myself, I’ve also used the Warm Showers hosting network extensively, both as a guest and a host. I’ve built up many positive reviews on that platform and can happily provide references — I’ve even screenshot some recent ones so hosts can see them for themselves.
I’m new to Couchsurfing as a platform, but not new to the values behind it. While travelling now, I’d love to experience Couchsurfing from the guest side and when I return to London I hope to give back by hosting, offering advice and sharing friendship with visitors to the UK.
