About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See as much as I can while I'm young and relatively unencumbered!
ABOUT ME
I'm currently an undergrad studying Mechanical Engineering and Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Although I'm majoring in engineering, I normally like to talk about adventures, books, art, personal and life stuff - the stuff that we can feel invested in as humans. I'm a potter when I'm not a student, and love bicycle touring, reading, listening to and making music, ice cream, and biking through Minnesota's crazy winters!
PHILOSOPHY
Traveling is good, but it's really the people that make the journey. So, I'm looking for good people to make it a good journey :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I don't currently have a couch to offer, as I'm just renting a room. Once I have space to host, though, I'll gladly share it with other Couchsurfers!
Interests
In no particular order: bicycle touring, reading (John Steinbeck, John Irving, Kurt Vonnegut, nonfiction, too!), pottery, sharing a meal with good people, camping, piano, discovering new music, stealth camping, meeting new people

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: John Steinbeck, John Irving, Kurt Vonnegut, and nonfiction stuff
Music: Gahhh such a hard question, my last 10 played artists: Charlie Parker, Diana Ross & the Supremes, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, The Shins, Louis Armstrong, Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, Ray Charles, Thelonious Monk, Michael Jackson
Movies: I watch way, way to few movies... So, my favorites come from childhood: Finding Nemo, Tarzan, The Lion King, etc. I do watch short films fairly frequently, though, that have more serious themes!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've perfected making frozen pizzas on the stove (one of those "I don't have an oven" things)... But I also rode my bicycle from Seattle to Maine one summer.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've got a fair amount of knowledge about: bicycle touring, pottery, books, the US Midwest (Minneapolis!!!), mechanical engineering and the life of an engineering student (specifically, making matzah pizza).
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to contribute ingredients and cooking assistance to make a meal (or a couple of meals!), good conversation, wine/beer, help fixing up your bike, tips on bicycle touring, book suggestions, odd jobs, etc.!
