About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Next stop: Zagreb

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Northern Bavaria, studied biotechnology in Berlin and started my PhD in population genetics in Leipzig, my current home.

When I am not studying, I am interested in sports, history, design and culture. Therefore, I love to meet other people from abroad to get to know their view on the world and see their home country. And I love photography - so be aware, I will take pictures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met many great people all around the world, being very generous.
- Getting a tour with a VW bus (painted Cafe Liberte) through Budapest
- Staying for 4 nights with 3 friends in Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia and got a great city tour while an Icelandic volcano exploded
- Superb discussions and Colombian/Mexican food in Barcelona
- multiple hours of a Georgian family dinner with a non-ending supply of homemade wine and food

Interests

I am a big tech and science geek and love photography and design. When I am not surfing the Internet or reading books, I try to do as much sports outdoors as I can.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelled with a bus from Kotor, Montenegro, to Mostar, Bosnia, seeing the great hills and valleys during sunset. Walking through Mostar by night, seeing all the unrepaired bullet holes in the buildings. Next morning by train to Sarajevo to see all the mosques. Further on by a night train to Belgrade with a overnight stop on the most awful train station of Bosnia, Doboj. 2 days, 4 cities, one former country and so many different impressions.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can do some basic programming and scripting. I also know what non-EU foreigners would need to do bureaucracy-wise, when planning to stay long-term in Germany.

Countries I’ve Visited

Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Latvia, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malaysia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Palestine, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom
