我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I started as a Couchsurfer when I traveled Europe and Canada in 2011. After that, my friend Thomas and I hosted a steady stream of guests at our apartment in Montreal. So I'm into both hosting and surfing, and I've done a lot of both.

My ideal hosting experience is one where I can take the time to show the surfer around town, share some meals, and get to know them. My ideal surfing experience is one where I can feel comfortable and welcome.

One time I won the thousand dollar prize for getting first place in a skateboard contest. I immediately bought a cob of corn.

I'm not an expert in any field, but I do love to have a good intelligent chat. I especially love politics, ethics, science, media, and current affairs. I'm trying to develop a better grasp of economics and finance as well as fiscal and monetary policy.

I can help English speakers with basic French. I also love cooking as a group activity, and I'm always down to share in the making and eating of food and drink.

One of my favourite ways to show gratitude for my hosts is to cook them a nice meal. In general, though, I think it's a surfer's duty to be pleasant and helpful, and to find an appropriate way to show each host your gratitude.
