Hello! My name is Alexander Salman (but everyone calls me Alex) and I am from the Netherlands.

I enjoy travelling and meeting new people from different cultural backgrounds. I studied Fiscal Economics at the Erasmus University, from which I graduated with a master's degree in 2016. I like spending time with friends, sharing a drink and playing games such as poker or Mario Kart. Next to that I play squash regularly and occasionally I go running outside. Oh, and I also like music a lot and (used to) play the guitar. Yes, I need to start putting time into that hobby again...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I want to travel and explore the world. I found that exploring a place that you don't know (as a tourist) can be difficult and it is likely much easier (and more fun!) with a local.

The people you meet during your travels adds a lot to your experience and is probably even more important than the places themselves.
