I'm a good-natured PhD student from California who enjoys exploring new places and making new friends.

1) Don't pull up the ladder behind you; be a mentor. 2) I'm always trying to use my imagination and data-collection skills instead of jumping to knee-jerk conclusions about how things are/must be.

Right now I'm on the move, but when I have a more settled life (in a few months), I hope to be able to host fellow CSers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think one of the most amazing things I've ever done is be a foreign language teacher. Seeing my students' eyes light up as they figured the language out was truly unbelievable and gratifying.

Teach, Learn, Share

I feel like I have a lot of fairly common skills (at this point, for example, many of us can cook, knit, etc., and most probably better than I). However, I am fairly good with academic matters and could help you think through your thesis, dissertation or other project. I'm also good at problem solving. I could teach you the rudiments of guitar playing. Perhaps I have other skills that I don't even know about--what would you like to learn? Maybe I can help. :)

I would like to learn French, Spanish and Dutch. I like to learn about the tastes, sounds and touchstones of new cultures--I love to trade stories and find out what daily life is like in different places.
