About Me

Hi!
I am currently residing near Gangnam(강남) area, working as an English teacher in a private sector.

I enjoy meaningful conversations with people who have different perspectives from my own, especially with people who can get into an argument without making it personal.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I do not travel only to famous tourist spots. Of course, tourist attractions are worth a visit most of the time, but what I wish to do in my travels is living(even for a few days) like a local. I would rather visit the diner that locals go to after work or a park to relax in than tourist-favored spots or restaurants.
This is why I am on Couchsurfing. I just cannot imagine a better way to experience the city like a local than staying or hanging out with locals.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was teaching Korean students in Singapore as a home tutor. After few months, I found out that my boss was taking money from students for the lessons they could not manage to attend, while telling students that I was also taking the money.(For example, if a student had postponed a lesson from Tuesday to Wednesday, he would have had to pay for two lessons)
First, I confronted my boss and told her that it is wrong to charge students for lessons they postponed, without telling their parents. She did not listen.
So I told students they were being ripped off, and wrote email to every single student's parents explaining the situation.
I got fired later that week, but I believe I would do the same should I ever be in that situation again.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have taught Korean students English for some years, and currently. I am volunteering in a care house, teaching kids English. I can probably teach you some Korean expression haha
