CURRENT MISSION

I am a senior attending Northern Arizona University. I lived abroad last semester and enjoyed every second of it. While I have not pursued couchsurfing yet, I have done Airbnb - similar except you're paying people for their home. I can't wait to try couchsurfing because I feel the experience will be even better than expected.

ABOUT ME

How's it going everyone?!

My name is Alexa and I'm a Phoenician soaking up the beautiful mountain air here in Flagstaff, Arizona.

I enjoy outdoor activities such as snowboarding, hiking, and cliff jumping. When I can afford it, I enjoy going to music festivals, especially anything involving EDM. I'm also a sports enthusiast and grew up going to all of the local sporting events in Phoenix.

I'm currently studying journalism with a minor in electronic media and film, public relations, and international communication.

I attempted broadcast news at the local student run tv station here, but learned the on-air life was not for me. I've gone back to print journalism and fell in love with writing once again. I also have an interest in filming and editing (which is why I'm an EMF minor DUH).

I wrote the above article on couchsurfing once I learned what it was all about. My buddy Josh truly opened up my eyes to a whole new experience, and really, a whole different culture that I had been missing out on. I'm quite excited to open my doors to a plethora of people and to learn from everyone I meet. I also hope to use this as means to travel in the near future.

Music: ANYTHING EDM! Except for trap. Absolutely love Kaskade, Above & Beyond, Porter Robinson, Madeon, Tiesto, the list goes on and on... I used to be really into pop punk bands from 2007, but thankfully, I've grown out of that phase of my life.
Movies: The Lion King, The Dark Knight, Fight Club, Star Wars, Harry Potter...
TV Shows: Breaking Bad, Gilmore Girls, The Office, Weeds, Bob's Burgers, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Parks and Recreation.. the list could go on and on, I swear.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I've been skydiving once before and that was truly an incredible moment. I basically "browned out" from the time we left the plane to when he let go of our chute, my adrenaline was pumping THAT MUCH.
EDC Las Vegas 2014 changed my life though. I can look back at that weekend and say that was truly the greatest weekend of my life. It's indescribable and I advise everyone to go to a music festival at least once in their lifetime.

I feel couchsurfing is going to educate me more than anything. This experience will be eye-opening and I'm excited to not only learn about the different people in this world, but to learn about what kind of person I am.
I hope to share my experiences, my thoughts, my desires, my fears, my hopes, my and my dreams with new and beautiful strangers.
I don't know how much I can teach, but I can confirm there are helpful, happy people out there in this world.
