ABOUT ME

I'm 27 years old, I've been working the past 4 years with mentally ill homeless people in NYC. I quit and now I'm here. I would like to be a professional writer one day, and I'm here in South America to get better at Spanish, to meet people, and hopefully do a few things I've never done before.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm not sure at this point, it seems to be changing all the time. I think it's important to listen to yourself, and to be open to everything around you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to this, but I would like to participate by meeting with people in La Paz, where I plan to spend 6 weeks or so. That could mean couch surfing, or it could mean just meeting up and having food/drinks, going to see music, helping someone to learn english while I learn some spanish...Mostly I would like to meet some people and hang out and see what kind of fun we can have together, and what we can learn from each other. I hope I have something to offer.

Interests

I am interested in anything arts related, especially music and literature. I also love all sports, and good food and drink. My schooling was in politics, and I'm interested in that area of life as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Roberto Bolano, Vladimir Nabokov and James Baldwin, among others. I love to read.
Movies: Apocalypse Now, Pan's Labyrinth, Taxi Driver, Anchorman. I love going to the movies to see basically anything.
All kinds of music, hip-hop, Jazz, rock, latin influenced music, everything, especially if it is live. I'm listening to LCD Soundsystem a lot right now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw some baby elephants mud wrestling in Tanzania, that was cool.
I also just met my three new cousins in Brazil a month ago, that was great.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share some knowledge about the English language I guess, music, sports, literature. I want to learn more about all these things as well. I've traveled a decent amount and can talk about that. And if anyone wants to talk about New York or even visit, I can do that all day.
