I'm Alexa, a 27 year old Dutchie currently living in the Hague. I'm working as a communications employee at the ministry of health. My project focuses on promoting the use of health innovations and I'm enjoying myself a lot with that. My plan is to continue working in the Netherlands until next summer and then pack my bag to travel again.

I try to always be positive and look at the bright side of everything. I am an open-minded person, always eager to learn from other people's perspectives. I'm kind and easygoing with a weird/terrible sense of humor.

Travel experience:
- 3 months New Zealand. Lost my heart to this country and have been wanting to go back ever since
- 3 months Japan, Taiwan, Phillipines and Malaysia. Amazing times, great food, lovely people.
- 3 months Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and the Balkan countries. Loved every thing about it.
- 5 months Russia, Mongolia, China, Thailand, Cambodia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. Ask me about living with nomads and learning how to milk goats in Mongolia!

Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

I think the best way to explore another country and culture is to get to know the locals. And there is no better way to do that than to sleep on their couch! I love meeting new people, making new friends and learning new ways of life.

Whenever possible, I will take you to see nice things, eat together or play some games. Unfortunately, I do have a fulltime job during the weekdays. Weekends would therefore be the best time to stay at my place :) but you're definitely welcome during the week as well!

Interesses

I like to experience new things, meet new people, try lots of different foods, walk new paths and conquer my fears. I like cooking and baking (maybe I can cook you a Dutch specialty? :D), watching movies, hiking, running, adventure, and travelling (what a surprise ;)).
