Hi! I'm Alex. I'm a writer and aspiring filmmaker from the north of England. I love to cook, travel, read and study.

I've just finished a degree in English and French. For the moment, I work as a research assistant in MedTech and in permaculture design, and as a private tutor in English and French literature.

When I'm not travelling, I live off-grid(ish) in a shed near the Welsh border.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My favourite part of travelling is meeting new people, especially those who are equally open to the experience. I don't need luxury, sterility or a bed to enjoy myself, so couchsurfing is the perfect solution.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A couple of years ago, I taught myself housing law basics to take down a rogue landlord! It took months of research, being threatened, and hundreds of excruciating emails, but in the end I won back over £15k for a group of student tenants, all while doing my degree.
