My name is Alex, I am 18. I am currently a full time student. I can be a bit excentric at times but have a genuine passion for life and experiences. I am on Couchsurfing because I think travelling is about seeing the world and meeting new people. I would love to one day have friends all over the world with whom I have countless weird stories to tell and shared experiences to laugh about. I think that couchsurfing is a great way to meet locals.

I love to read, and am truly passionate about music. I don't play any musical instruments with any degree of skill. However I am constantly listening to music, mostly rock and metal, but I will enjoy anything. Movies are another thing I tend to get quite nerdy about. I enjoy watching films, especially foreign films with subtitles.

I visited the Khao Yai bat caves one evening in Thailand, and literally sat for an hour watching millions of bats come pouring out of a mountainside. The individual bat's flew in tight formation, creating a colossal black stream that danced across the sunset sky. It was gorgeous, and astounding to see so many animals in one place.

I am happy to help hosts interested in learning English/Spanish to improve their language skills. I can also teach you to cook some Spanish food provided I can find ingredients. I am currently studying Chemistry and Biology. I really love languages and cooking, so would love to learn as much as possible from you, be that how to speak some of the local language, cook local cuisine, or get an insight into the culture.

I can also offer some very interesting conversations since I seem to collect useless facts that are interesting but unfortunately have very few practical applications.
