Overview
About Me
Hi there. I'm an easy going South African guy, who enjoys the little things in life.I lived in South Korea for a while and came to the US to finish my Masters Degree. I have done a lot of solo traveling and tend to be happiest when its just me and my camera. I love hiking, finding random little local spots, getting to know local culture and trying out different foods, drinks and traditions that the locals deem "musts". I am also pretty easy to convince to join a night out.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting locals and seeing places from their point of view. I much prefer local markets and social gatherings to the clichè "travellers hotspots". I think locals can give you a much more authentic experience of a place and i hope to do the same for anyone wanting to meet up or hang out. The people I've met through Couchsurfing will be my lifelong friends and I trust that I will make many more of those friendships along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is the easiest way for me to connect with someone. Anything from Indie Rock to summer house gets me overly excited. I also love sharing music with people, especially if it is mutually appreciated.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once travelled to an Jeju Island with a complete stranger that I met at the airport and it turned out to be an amazing trip. We were both on a tight budget which meant we had to actively look for cheap street food and transport. We ended up finding this amazing seafood market that doubled as "bar" of choice for the locals and we tried all the food that we did not know the name of. I would highly recommend visiting!
Teach, Learn, Share
I would be happy to cook up my famous South African dessert that I have learnt to perfect by now. I also love spending a whole day photographing the city with anyone who is into Photography and/or Architecture.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A LOT of travel stories and the occasional joke or two. I also love sharing my culture with people that would not otherwise know what South Africans get up to. Note: You are expected to memorize at east one "cheers".
