Chi sono

Venture into the unknown...
My take on travelling: I would like to experience the place from the perspective of a local, discover new kinds of people and ways of living. If I wanted everything that I'm used to, I might as well stay home!

I'm a software engineer with a strong interest in biology, medicine (especially neurology) and a lot of other aspects of life.

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

We have a nice and big (for only 3 people) house here in a beautiful environment here that I'd like to share! I always enjoy having guests, especially from other parts of the world, hanging out with them and hearing their stories.

On the other hand I like the opportunity to visit a new place and see it from the perspective of the people who live here, not just superficially as a tourist. I think Couchsurfing is a great way to do exactly that, while meeting new and interesting people!

Musica, film e libri

When it comes to movies I tend to prefer a strong story line, interesting characters or a dense atmosphere over raw action. I love movies by Wes Anderson, Quentin Tarantino, Edgar Wright and Christopher Nolan (all quite different, but genius in their own right). I also watch a lot of series, too many to list here ;)
Although I haven't read a lot of books lately, some I enjoyed are Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and the Discworld Novels (still a lot of them to go there) and on a more serious note, but no less bizarre in it's own right - "The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat" by Oliver Sacks. Still have to finish that last one, but what I've read so far was deeply fascinating and raises a lot of questions about our perception of the outside world and consciousness as a whole. But I digress.
I also enjoy reading the works of Oscar Wilde, where I'd like to draw a comparison to Wes Anderson's movies: Almost every line Wilde writes seems perfectly quotable, while I'd be happy to hang just about any frame of Anderson's movies on my wall. While I like much lighter comedy just as much (loved Deadpool for example), this has it's very own draw and fascination.

Insegna, impara, condividi

What's your passion? I'd love to hear about it! That's what Couchsurfing is about for me: Experience and experiences. Sharing old ones as well as creating new ones.

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

A beer and a conversation would be a good start :)
I'm always up for all sorts of fun activities, whether it's going out to a bar / club or staying home having our own party (something we often do due to the horrendous prices in Zurich), taking a trip to somewhere interesting or just going for a walk to explore the area - count me in!

I'm also happy to cook a meal for you (or with you), go out and spend some time together. I'm not using couchsurfing for a free place to stay, but for the experience and to meet interesting people!
