I’m a down-to-earth guy who’s trying to leave the world a better place. I like to enjoy the outdoors in any way I can, and I love learning new things...whether I’m reading, watching a documentary, going to a museum, or exploring someplace new. (That could be on another continent or just down the street.)

Hobbies have included: growing shiitake mushrooms on logs (not special mushrooms!), crocheting, and producing biodiesel. Currently, I’m getting into carpentry (in helping my friend build a Tiny House) and kintsugi repair.

Since I have abandoned car ownership in favor of the smile machine (bicycle) traveling long distances without mass transit requires a bike tour. And bike tours require a place to sleep in between riding days!
