ABOUT ME

By nature I am sociable and outspoken.
I'm also a skeptic and a "junky" for reason.
I enjoy being an intellectual but also getting my hands dirty.
I guess you could say I'm dedicated. I'm not the kind of person who makes promises or commitments every day, I only promise or commit to something when my heart is into it and I know I can do it. Apart from this principle when I embark on a new endeavor, promise or not, one can count on me doing all that I can the best way I can or know how. But of course that may not always be good enough.
For some this may sound weird but people are a hobby of mine. I "collect" people. And ideas, I also enjoy a lot collecting ideas - knowing stuff just for the sake of knowing it.

PHILOSOPHY

I wish to put to good use my energy, my skills and my knowledge in an activity that has more meaning or value than increasing sales or profit margins. And if life is suppose to be a struggle I might as well struggle for this. It's not about "saving the world". It's about where I wish to invest my resources. It's about how I wish to relate to others and how I want to lead my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

CouchSurfing it's entirely new to me so I really don't know yet. It's been brought to my attention in the last year first in Norway then in Sweden and Denmark and for a while I was rather reluctant to "join" feeling I don't fit the CouchSurfer profile. But then CouchSurfers "followed" me all the way to South Africa and Mozambique and I've got a lot of positive feedback about CouchSurfing from a lot of people so different from each other - different interests, different lives, just different, which made me realize that the CouchSurfer profile is no quite like I've pictured it. Therefore I've decided to give CouchSurfing a try.

In terms of formal training I studied Psychology and Sociology yet I ended up working for 10 years in Market Research. To what extent does this recommended me for my future work as a "professional volunteer" it's debatable. I'm only confident to say that my biggest asset is my need to feel useful.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Nature in general can be very impressive and ideas sometimes ... but I guess I'm not that easily awestruck. Still most of the times I've got closer to being awestruck it involved people and/or the sea. Specific events or circumstances may or may not be relevant since I do believe it's all a matter of timing.

In a way I would like to know everything about everything. Maybe not so much about football and cars. And I'm pretty sure there are some things I wouldn't mind being completely ignorant about.
