About Me

I am Canadian, 21 years old. When I was very young my parents adopted me from china and I grew up in a small town in southern Ontario. I attend the University of BC and studied biochemistry for 2 years before deciding that I want to pursue something I’m more passionate about. I took a gap year to solo travel Southeast Asia and a bit of Western Europe for 6.5 months and it was a life changing experience. Currently back in school studying marine biology, learning how to snowboard, and continuing my passion of scuba diving and surrounding myself with the ocean.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a variety of music but my favourite type is usually indie/rock/alternative and I’ve never been a fan of hip hop or country. I love exploring new types of music around the world and I used to play the clarinet for 2 years but would love to learn how to play the guitar or piano.

I’ve always been an avid reader though I’m not good at reading while I’m travelling. My favourite genre used to be sci-fi or fantasy but now I’m fascinated in reading about history and science of the world. Currently trying to read A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At the beginning of my SE Asia trip I completed the hike up Mt. Kinabalu, over 4000m high and took 2 days to complete. This was the first mountain I’ve ever conquered and I did it with no training (which was a bad idea). I was super hard for me but reaching the summit was an amazing feeling.
