ABOUT ME

Outgoing and nerdy college graduate who loves to travel and see the world.
I absolutely love history (I studied that as well as international relations at Florida State University. I also studied Arabic in college and abroad in Lebanon (this is my third language behind French.. although it is not the last on my list!)
I have a passion for experiencing the world and everything it has to offer: the bizarre, the exciting, the not-so exciting, etc. I am not particularly fazed by cultural differences therefore culture shock is not a risk, or a risk with negative consequences, for me.

PHILOSOPHY

You live once, do not take what the world has to offer for granted. To waste a moment in regret is a moment that you will never get back: live every second with happiness and like it is your last! :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed for several days while in Rome and had an absolutely fantastic time in this experience! I have interacted with several couchsurfers since joining last year (in Lebanon, Italy, France... soon to be Greece and India) and I plan on becoming a much more active participant in terms of hosting and surfing in the future! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was hosted/ I surfed in Rome, Italy; Athens, Greece.
I have surfed in Beirut, Lebanon; Var, France (and hopefully more soon!)

Pillars of the Earth, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit, Blue Horizon, anything Dan Brown... essentially any sort of historical non-fiction, or fiction, adventure related texts.
Adventure and suspence films, especially historical epics such as Troy, Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan, Kingdom of Heaven, etc etc.
Music... if you love the 1960's then you basically understand my music tastes.

Traveling by river boat down the Mae Kok river in Thailand... unbelievable.

Walking through St. Peter's Square at night and then walking around the Roman Forum and the Coliseum after dark.

Traveling around the world (backpacking) with my father as a graduation gift for four months :)

Do not look to CouchSurfing as an easy way of earning a place to sleep for a night or two. This site is a way on connecting with the locals and really getting to see what a city/people/culture is all about (beyond the travel guides). Whether it is simply corresponding via email, grabbing a cup of coffee or even spending an evening exploring a destination while learning about one another that is the true spirit of CouchSurfing. If you happen to get a place to stay, great,if not it is all about the experience, the advice, and the memories that you will obtain! :)
