ABOUT ME
My first time using Couchsurfing as a guest was during a five week backpacking journey with my sister through European cities as I read Tolstoi's "War and Peace." I made many new friends and discovered a new favorite book.

Currently, my biggest adventure is planning a wedding and living life with my partner and best friend, Michael.

PHILOSOPHY
I strive to live a whole life. For me, that means living a life that includes happiness, but it also means allowing myself to experience a full spectrum of emotions beyond that - both positive and negative. I take joy in the times when I can cry on the shoulder of a good friend for more than the reason that it offers a good contrast to the good times. I want all the times.

I believe in love and the goodness of people. My perfect world is a world in which people can have honest conversations about the brokenness they experience without feeling ashamed or afraid. Through the love of other people, we catch glimpses of ourselves. I live mindfully and invest in the relationships of my friends and the people that enter my small slice of the world. I think the most accessible change and the most potent good is communicated through individual gestures of love. I live my life in a pursuit of those instances of good and healing.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted surfers at my apartment when I lived in Annapolis, and although I don't currently have an available couch in Baltimore, I'd be happy to show people around the city and chat! Even when I don't have couch requests, I like to believe that I'm participating in the mentality and global community fostered by this project.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed in 8 wonderful homes throughout Europe as I traveled with only a backpack filled with essentials and a twin sister. I also enjoy hosting in the US when my couch is available!

兴趣

I grew up landlocked but love to swim. I swam competitively for several years before I ever saw the ocean, so now that I'm living in a coastal state, I hope to swim my first open water event soon!

I enjoy all kinds of dancing from bopping to Gaga to waltzing. I especially like east coast swing for its tricks and blues dancing for its musicality.

When I'm not indulging a sense of adventure, my introverted soul takes solace in the comfort of my well-decorated home. I love crafting and up-cycling, creating a space that facilitates an intimate community. I love to entertain, eating and drinking with people who love dessert.

I enjoy watching Mad Men. They're doing something right.

I like acting and singing. Both are such powerful emotional releases, and it feels so good to create something beautiful with other people.

Music: Lady Gaga, Tallest Man on Earth (especially when I play him too slow on the record player and make his voice extra deep), James Vincent McMorrow, Grimes, 3oh!3, Eminem, and many more.
Movies: I really love The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Disney's animated The Hunchback of Notre Dame is surprisingly good. I recently revisited it, and the score is based off of Mozart's Requiem!
Books: all of them.

I want to learn how to walk through a museum slowly. I didn't grow up with a lot of museum visits and don't know how to gaze at art or history for a long time - or how to gaze at all. I would love to walk together with someone, borrowing their sight, to learn appreciation.
