As a young girl, I always dreamed of adventures in far away places. My curious mind always wanted to learn more about what lay beyond the borders of America. At ten years old I started the creation of what I called my "Adventure List" which consisted of seventeen destinations that I wanted to visit. As a senior in high school, I finally got on an airplane for the first time and traveled to New York City. NYC was the first destination that I had placed on my list as a girl. Finally being able to achieve one of my goals made me feel like I could do the impossible. Before I leave this earth, I plan on visiting everywhere on my list, and I can only hope that I am able to spread kindness and joy everywhere I go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

September 2018 I will be traveling to Barcelona, Spain and I am researching all that I can in order to prepare for this trip. This will be my first international travel experience, and I want to make sure that I have everything ready in time.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books are Vince Flynn's American Assassin novels (excited for the movie adaptation in Sept. 2017) and The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I do not really have a favorite music genre. I am always switching it up depending on how I am feeling at the time. And finally, my favorite movie is The Notebook...just kidding haha. My all time favorite movie is The Internship, but I also love a lot of movies from the 1980s. Classics like Michael J Fox's "Back to the Future", Tom Cruise's "Cocktail", "Flashdance", "Footloose", and Tom Hank's "Big" are all fantastic '80s movies that I absolutely love.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At seventeen years old, I learned about an issue that plagues this earth known as Human Trafficking. I did a research project in school that opened my eyes to a world that I did not realize existed. I grew up in a quiet and safe home in the country. Things like trafficking simply did not happen....or so I thought. I learned that NC (my home state) was one of top trafficking states in America. That fact struck me like lightning. That is when I decided that if I did not stand up and try to make a difference, no one would. Now, I am an End It Ambassador. I raise awareness of the prevalence of human trafficking in the hopes of one day ending it.
