About Me

Hi! I’m originally from Liège, Belgium, and I’m currently living in Paris. I’ve had a bit of a winding road in life – I used to work as a filmmaker, telling stories through images, and recently I made a big career shift to become a software engineer. I guess you could say I’m not afraid of change, especially when it means learning something new.

What I love the most when I travel is discovering the real side of a place – not just the tourist spots, but the small towns, quiet streets, and everyday life that locals experience. I’m drawn to off-grid places, villages where life has its own rhythm, and places where I can meet people and have genuine conversations.

I’m naturally curious and always up for discovering something new – whether it’s a local tradition, a homemade dish, or someone’s story.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I love to travel and meet locals, have a glimpse at their daily lives and share my own experiences and stories with them.

Interests

I used to work in film, so cinema is still very close to my heart – I love watching films that make me think or feel something deep, whether it's the work of Kubrick, Angelopoulos, or Tarkovski. I’m also really into music – I play both the drums and piano, and my taste is all over the place: from Chopin and Beethoven to old rock, hip hop, and electronic music.

Outside of that, I’m pretty active – I play basketball and tennis regularly, and I enjoy anything that gets me moving. I also spend a lot of time reflecting and exploring topics around spirituality and philosophy. I could easily get lost in a conversation about life, art, politics, or anything that opens up new ways of thinking.

When I’m with a host, I love doing simple things together – cooking a meal, helping out with a task, or joining in on a local activity. I’m always happy to be involved and to contribute to the flow of the house.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC:

As I already said, I'm deeply in love with music and I'm really eclectic in my tastes. Depending on the mood I could be listening to classical music such as the nocturnes of Chopin, 60's and 70's rock such as the Doors or Led Zeppelin, 80's pop, Old hip hop especially Nas, or even progressive electronic music such as David August or N'to.

FILMS:

There also very eclectic. Too much to count.

COMEDY:

Big big fan of The Simpsons and South Park. Those two pretty much sum up my sense of humor.

BOOKS:

Mostly anything linked with spirituality or self development: the power of now, Allan Watts' books,...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in Poland for almost 2 years making a feature film in the underground world of hooliganism.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I always try to adapt to the energy of the host and their schedule – sometimes I’ve ended up doing tons of things together, other times it’s just been a nice conversation and then doing my own thing. I’m totally fine with either – I don’t expect anything, but I’m always open to connect if the moment feels right.

I love sharing stories from my different chapters – my time as a filmmaker, running a startup, or travels that shaped the way I see the world. I can also cook (happy to prepare something if you’re up for it), and I’m always glad to help out around the house however I can.

More than anything, I hope to leave behind a good vibe, a bit of warmth, and maybe a few laughs – something that makes the short time we share feel meaningful.
