I don't care if you write copy/paste or impersonal messages, as I understand if you're desperate to find a host, I've been there! The only things I care about is if you host yourself, or be a guide in your city if you can't host and have good references.

For people who didn't host ever or hosted 2 times and been hosted 100: I don't like freeloaders, everybody wants a free hotel, but couchsurfing doesn't work like this! Yeah, everybody wants free accommodation, but somebody has to host in order to make that accommodation happen!

I think the best way to see a new culture is to interact with its people. Staying in a hotel is not only very costly most of the time, but it creates a distance between the natives and yourself. I have never done something like couch surfing before, but I am very excited at the idea!
