I'm a recent college graduate from the U.S.A. currently living in Brazil. I was worked in investment banking, first in New York and then in Rio de Janeiro, and am currently taking a professional sabbatical to travel in Southeast Asia!

I have had this account forever, but never used it before (neither to host nor travel). I heard from a friend about their positive experiences on Couchsurfing, so I would love to give it a try. Hope to meet interesting, friendly, open-minded people around the world as I travel!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done was hike Mount Fuji when I was stranded in Japan. I was in Tokyo for a weeklong conference, and really wanted to do the hike over the weekend but couldn't get a group together. I had almost given up when Hurricane Irene struck the East Coast of the U.S. and stranded me and the rest of my party. So a couple of us got together and did the hike, all the way to the top of Mt. Fuji - freezing during the final hour of the ascent. But the sunrise at the top was worth it all :)
